Green Projects
Proud to be Green!
The Landscape Design Center prides itself on incorporating green and eco-friendly ideas and products for our clients. As environmental enthusiasts, we continuously research the most up-to-date trends and impacts to ensure the longevity of your outdoor space.
There are several green options to consider for your outdoor space:
Geoweb Walls: A structurally stable, low-impact development structure that performs well even with poor base conditions. Geoweb walls allow you to design naturally vegetated walls that reduce stormwater runoff and help meet green building goals.
Rain Barrels: They are used to collect and store rainwater, typically from rooftops via gutters. They can be wonderful IF they are set up properly and easy for clients to use.
Rain Gardens: Is an engineered depression that receives runoff from impervious surfaces; such as roofs, driveways, walkways, parking lots, and even compacted lawn areas. Once in the rain garden the runoff can be absorbed through the soil medium. The plants in the rain garden help to filter pollutants out of the water before it returns to the groundwater OR runs off into creeks and streams.
Permeable Pavers: A wide variety of permeable materials that allow the infiltration of stormwater through the pavement AND subbase. In effect, assisting with water filtration, minimizing pollution, and erosion control.
These options assist with all different environmental issues, are eco-friendly, and can provide different elements of beauty to your outdoor space, while also offering functionality. Some Counties offer financial compensation to install eco-friendly landscape options.
